Along with a new name, the latest update for the app also brings other changes. The pairing and setup process has been improved so you can get started quickly with your Nothing earbuds (via). The company has also refreshed the app’s UI for an improved user experience. The customizable gesture controls get improvements too, allowing you to control the buds more efficiently. The Nothing X app further offers the ability to switch between multiple ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) modes on your Nothing Ear (1). The new Ear (Stick), meanwhile, gets a low-lag mode that lets you enjoy a lag-free gaming experience. The app also lets you control various equalizer presets or create your own for customized sound. Preset equalizers vary across low, mid, and high-frequency sound levels. Both of Nothing’s TWS earbuds boast the wear detection feature. They automatically detect if the buds are in your ears to manage music, power, and other settings. And should you ever misplace the buds, the Nothing X app helps you find them. You can also check the battery levels of the buds and the charging case through the app. It enables firmware updates for the buds as well.

Nothing X features have been integrated into the Phone (1)

If you’re using the Nothing Ear (1) or buying the Nothing Ear (Stick) to pair with your Nothing Phone (1), you don’t need a separate app to access all these features. The company has baked in the app on the phone software. On Nothing OS 1.1.4 or higher, all settings and features are available from Device Details in the Bluetooth menu. Even if you install the Nothing X app, it will not show up on the app drawer. Nothing wants you to use the integrated software to control the buds on the Phone (1). Meanwhile, if you have some other smartphone, you can download the updated app for iOS and Android to control your Nothing TWS earbuds.
