Of course, we have seen a lot of the Pixel 7 Pro lately. There’s not much left to know both in terms of design and specs. But the latest leak gives us another look at that camera bridge on the back, as well as the rest of the phone. We can see the positioning of the cameras as well as the physical buttons, holes, and ports. The antenna lines are visible too. The source adds that the recessed area at the top is for the mmWave antenna. The super-fast mmWave signals find it tougher to penetrate obstacles than low and mid-band signals. So phone makers design their devices such that the mmWave antennas aren’t blocked by the metal frame or even user hands when they are holding the phone.
Pixel 7 Pro leaks are coming thick and fast
Apart from showing the Pixel 7 Pro from all angles, the latest leak doesn’t tell much about the device. But this source has already revealed a lot. The new Google phone will still sport a new Samsung-made display. However, it is an upgraded panel from the one found on the Pixel 6 Pro. As you can see in the renders below, the screen is also curved on all four sides. An upgraded haptic feedback solution could also be part of the package. The new model gets the Cirrus Logic CS40L26 haptic chip, which should be a generation newer than the Cirrus Logic CS40L25 that was featured in last year’s model. The Pixel 7 Pro also switches to a new NFC chip that doesn’t include UWB (ultra-wideband) functionality. But that doesn’t mean the phone will lack UWB support altogether. Google will have a separate chip handling this functionality. The second-gen Tensor chip is another improvement from 2021. This processor will feature the same 2+2+4 CPU core arrangement as its predecessor. The two Cortex-X1 big cores and four Cortex-A55 low-power cores may also carry over unchanged. But Google will likely upgrade the two Cortex-A76 mid-cores of the original Tensor to the Cortex-A78. Tile will tell what other upgrades the new Tensor will bring. We will keep you posted.
